Xeomin is a prescription medication used to treat fine lines, typically injected into the muscles near the eyebrows and other wrinkles on the face. This is a highly purified neurotoxin that works by blocking the process of formation of wrinkles, frown lines and other signs of aging. It is as effective as other medications with the same indication, such as Botox. The advantage of Xeomin is that it has no additives and some proteins found in other medications that may trigger a negative response are removed, which leads to fewer side effects.
This treatment usually takes about 10–20 minutes. No anesthesia is required because the injection is usually not very painful. The process takes more than one injection during each treatment. It takes five to 20 injections per treatment session.
The improvements will be noticed within three to four days after receiving the injection. But, depending on the person the results will last for long, or for less. The time between injections increases with repeated treatments.
Although this treatment can make much more relaxed and less tired look and can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, injections like Xeomin cannot always make the skin looking youthful and it’s very important to point out that Xeomin the same as Botox is a temporary solution and need to be repeated within several months for skin to retain its improved appearance. These injections won’t permanently improve the skin’s health and remove the skin damages caused by the sun’s UV rays, exhaustion, smoking, and poor diet.
On the other hand, Xeomin can be expensive and can potentially cause some side effects like allergic reactions, pain at the injection site, redness, bumps, and itching. So, we recommend natural alternatives such as jojoba oil, coconut oil, lavender and frankincense essential oils, rosehip oil, pomegranate oil, collagen, and many more that can fight wrinkles and fine lines. Plus, to improve the skin’s appearance in a lasting way, dietary and lifestyle changes are crucial.
